Sweet Adelines International announced the official charter of the
Prairie Gold Chorus in January, 1983. As part of Region 26, the
only all-Canadian region with choruses in the provinces of British
Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, the
Yukon and Nunavut, Prairie Gold has been very successful. In fact,
Prairie Gold placed second in its first competition in 1983 and
hasn't looked back since! Prairie Gold has received 28 awards in
its 22-year history, including nine First Place Small Chorus Awards
regionally and a fourth place Small Chorus award internationally.

Who makes up
Prairie Gold
Chorus?
We are nurses,
secretaries,
executives,
analysts,
therapists,
accountants,
entrepreneurs,
students, mothers,
sisters and
daughters. In other
words, we are any
woman and every
woman. We are
women with varied
interests, careers
and backgrounds.
What brings us
together is our
love of singing
and, in particular,
our love of singing
four-part a capella
harmony.
We also love
having fun!
